Certification Confirms the High Level of Security and Redundancy Available via DataPoint Colocation and Managed Services

DataPoint Achieves SAS70 Type II Certification

Baltimore, Md. - December 10, 2008 - DataPoint, a Baltimore-based managed service provider with a carrier-class data center that serves business customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, is proud to announce it has achieved Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) Type II certification of its Tide Point colocation facility. Conducted over the last few months, by CBIZ MHM, LLC & Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C., the audit confirms DataPoint meets the certification's stringent standards.

SAS 70 defines the standards used by a service auditor to assess the reliability of a company's internal controls. The findings are issued in a service auditor's report, which if successful, result in certification of the facility. Service organizations that impact the environment of their customer's business practices may be subject to SAS 70 requirements and customers that maintain critical data often require SAS 70 certification as a prerequisite.
