DataPoint Achieves PCI DSS Security Approval

PCI-DSS CertificationDataPoint has announced that they have successfully achieved PCI/DSS security compliance. PCI/DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) is a data security standard established by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide, and Visa Inc., in order to facilitate the wide adoption of consistent global data security measures.

By earning this certification, DataPoint Inc. agrees to meet the PCI Security Standards Council’s goals to help eliminate the theft of sensitive cardholder information. The main goals of PCI/DSS security compliance are:

  1. Building and maintaining a secure network that is PCI compliant.
  2. Protecting cardholder data
  3. Maintaining a vulnerability management program
  4. Iimplementing strong access control measures
  5. Regularly monitoring and testing networks
  6. Maintaining an information security policy

Being PCI/DSS compliant places DataPoint among the few companies who have undergone the rigorous process of achieving this certification. “This is a huge distinguishing factor, even more so than the SAS70 Type II certification that we already have,” says Curtis DePass, General Manager. “We are extremely proud of this achievement and we will continue providing the necessary security to our clients. The PCI/DSS is fundamental to our success.“
