It wasn’t long ago that having the right assets to compete in the world of business meant having to spend vast sums of money on traditional IT solutions.
After reading this page, you’ll see that remote backup, along with some of the other services that we provide, make that way of thinking obsolete.
Remote Backup and Disaster Recovery Solutions
To ensure that the information you entrust us to protect is always available to you, we run nightly backups of the servers that we use in our offsite backup services.
These servers attach to our private backup network, which makes it easy to protect your data not only from loss, but outside intrusion and unauthorized access as well.
Besides the security advantage, using our backup storage services means that your company can get a service that is essential to its continued functioning at a fraction of the cost of what the same service would be if you were to host it at your own site.
When it comes to managing data, it isn’t enough to simply have a server that the data is kept on. Information Technology (IT) management also dictates that you need:
- Storage space with room for potential expansion
- Personnel to maintain and troubleshoot hardware
- Software updates
- Ideal operating temperature for the hardware.
With our managed backup services at your disposal, your need to plan and set aside money for these things is eliminated, as we handle every aspect of IT management needed for data backup.
We also go further in protecting our assets by having a dry pipe fire suppression system in place that will be able to prevent damage to the servers where your information is housed in the event of a fire.
The Setup Process
For your convenience, we’ve included information regarding the process by which we set up our servers where your data will be stored and made redundant.
The process is such that backups are ordered on a per server basis. Each server has the following put into place:
- A second network card on the server that will serve as a means to backup the stored data. This network card is connected to our private network, which is connected to the backup server. This is what makes the whole managed backup process possible.
- A Backup Exec software agent that is loaded onto the server in order to perform the necessary backups.
- A physical cable connection to the private network that connects to the backup network. Once this is in place, the second network card is configured with a private IP address. This, along with the backup exec software, means that the backup storage process is ready to begin.
Backups are conducted in full once a week, with incremental backups occurring every day, except for the night of the full backup. Additionally, we perform a backup of the system state of that server’s operating system.
This assures that everything will always be up to date and available for you to access via our managed backup services. As a customer, you’re entitled to request a server restore any time that you feel it is necessary. When you put in a request for the server to be restored, the process begins within an hour.
Constant Support
Our Operations Support Center (OSC) provides clients with support for the services that they use, regardless of time of day.
With on-site security, trained and certified technicians who can address problems, and disaster preparation in the event of a fire in place, you can rest easy knowing that the equipment that stores your company’s information is always protected.
We offer support and protection 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week so that you’ll be able to take care of any issues that arise quickly and continue to carry on with your company’s mission.
